Les Coches Les Coches is a small village with access to skiing in the Paradiski area (which includes Les Arcs and La Plagne). Les Coches is not at the centre of this area, but a day trip will allow you to reach most of the pistes that the world famous area has to offer.
Les Coches itself is a mile down the road from the old farming village of Montchavin and the two share the pistes immediately above the settlements. Les Coches has a pretty, traffic-free centre, and good family facilities.

Les Coches Bars and Apres Ski Les Coches is, on the whole, a quiet resort, better suited to families than those looking to party all night. You should head to The Last One for your apres ski drink and listen to the bands after a hard days skiing, though. |

Les Coches Ski There are nice, tree-lined runs back into Les Coches. There is also sheltered and varied skiing on the Montchavin/Les Coches shared slopes. Snow can sometimes suffer in the Les Coches area, especially towards the end of the season, so it may be necessary to make your way higher - the blues above Les Pierres Blanches are fairly reliable. To enjoy the vast array of runs in the Paradiski area, Les Coches is a great base. The Vanoise Express departs from just above Montchavin, which leads to Les Arcs, and in the other direction is the entire La Plagne ski area.
The Paradiski area has 425km of pistes, 2 glaciers, 2 huge terrain parks and something for absolutely everyone. Experts should head to La Plagne are the Roche de Mio and the Glacier de Bellecote. Intermediates have virtually the whole of the La Plagne area to explore and enjoy.
Beginners will be pleased to know that the slopes above La Coches are perfect - gentle, tree-lined and served by both chairlifts and gondolas. |
