By Car From Grenoble take the Uriage exit from the "Rocade Sud" (southern ring road). The Uriage road has a 50km/h speed limit and suffers from black ice in winter. At Uriage take the D111 to Chamrousse.

Chamrousse
Chamrousse is situated in the Belledonne Area on the Isere department. It held the Olympic Men's and Women's downhill events in 1968. Being only 40 minutes away from Grenoble it is one of the easiest resorts to get to and makes and ideal weekend trip. It is also popular with families and is great value for money.

Chamrousse Nightlife
Chamrousse Apres Ski - Typically French but can be a little quiet. Maybe a night in Grenoble would be called for. Family then to stay at Roche Beranger which is a bit quieter and for those looking to party try Le Recoin. There are around 20 bars and restaurants to choose from.
Chamrousse ski area is perfect for intermediates and beginners. There are two main areas for skiing Recoin (1,650m), and Roche Béranger (1,750m) which is more geared towards family skiing. The resort lies at the end of the Belledonne Mountain Range in the French Alps.
The ski area overlooks the town of Grenoble which is a mere 30 minutes drive away.
Cross Country
There are a total of 41 km of cross country trails stretching across the sunny and sheltered Arselle plateau.
