Brig Ski Resort
Graceful old town with magnificent railway station. It’s the fulcrum for a dizzying series of major roads and rail routes, where people stop over on the way to Zermatt. The old town centre is a car free zone, however a car is needed to visit anyone of a dozen ski resorts within half an hour's drive. This is fairly easy to do however and from Brig you do have good access to three pretty and very pleasant resorts with good skiing. These are Blatten/Belalp, Rosswald and Rothwald. All three have a great sense of Valais charm, Blatten in particular with its wooden chalets and scenic glacier trails.

Brig Winter Activities
Overall one may suggest there is not a lot to do here except enjoy the mountain air and relax! Stockalper Palace: a baroque place built by the merchant prince Kaspar Jodok von Stockalper. The old town itself with its aristocratic houses, a collegiate church and Sebastians Chapel.
Slightly more exciting however, is the descent from Hohstock to Blatten in January where skiers dress in ghoulish witch costumes and go down the mountain together. Bizarre but amusing to watch as you can tell from the video...
