Skiing Nendaz
Nendaz is a constituent of the 4 Valleys network in Switzerland. The resort has become popular in recent years due to its relatively low prices, great views of the Rhone Valley and wonderful skiing. This having been said, the links with Verbier and the other resorts in the 4 Valleys aren't as great as you might expect from looking at the piste map and it takes a while to get to the other valleys. Once there, however, there is some superb skiing for all abilities to be had. Nendaz is a pretty modern resort and has been built sympathetically, in a traditional Alpine chalet style; however there is a chapel in the village of Nendaz that dates back 1499.

Nendaz Ski
Access via Siviez to 412 km of pistes in the 4 Valley network. Snow reliability in Nendaz is good as it sits on North Facing slopes. Watch out for the queues at Siviez when trying to get home at the end of the day.
For beginners there are nursery slopes high above Nendaz at 2200m on the frozen lake at Tracouet. You'll need to take a gondola to get up there but the views are great and the snow is good.
For intermediates there is about 220km of terrain to explore in the local Printz ski region including the resort runs of Nendaz, Siviez, Thyon and Veysonnaz. There are some great descents through tree lined trails and the views
are something to see. The sweeping reds and blues down to Nendaz are fantastic fun in good weather and great for improving confidence.
Advanced skiers will find plenty of challenges if they know where to look. The Verbier area has some fantastic itineraries, not least Col de Gentianes which drops down from Mont Fort to Tortin. After a fresh snow fall the possibilities for off-piste are endless. Not only do you have marked off-piste runs (the itineraries) but there are a load of tree runs and powder bowls to be found and enjoyed. Nendaz itself doesn't have much to offer though, so head further afield.
Snowboarders - Nendez offer a snowpark for boarders that includes a twin table, kickers, hips, wall rides, box and various rails. A highly recommended park. The resort is popular with boarders and we recommend heading over to the steep powdery slopes in the Verbier/Mont Fort area for some challenges. |

Nendaz is in a great location in the centre of the 4 valleys and this was one of the reasons we chose to ski here as Nendaz had come highly recommended to us. We skied Verbier without paying the exorbitant prices…what a result. We had some great nights at the Canadian Bar with live bands, dancing and great atmosphere! The skiing and snowboarding was awesome – cheers for sorting out the Rossignol Bandits for us!
