Skiing Leysin
Leysin was once famous as a high altitude centre of the treatment of respiratory diseases, and it is now a delightful laid back ski resort with an international feel. There's lots of sporting activities in winter including the largest Swiss toboganning park which is conveniently floodlit at night. The resort is mainly known for its early embrace of snowboarding however, hence the giant half pipe. There is also tubing on carved shoots which work similar to a bobsleigh run. It's a sunny resort and good for adults and children with a short transfer time from Geneva Aiport. Located in the heart of the Vaudois Alps Leysin is a wonderful place for a family winter holiday. |

Leysin Restaurants There are around 21 restaurants in the ski resort of Leysin and thats not including the fine restaurants that the hotels have to offer. We have heard great things about Le Leysin; located in one of the oldest chalets in Leysin you will be served delicious meat and fish that has been cooked on a wood-fire. Another popular restaurant is the La Lorraine where you can sit outside on the beautiful patio - great for people watching whilst being in a great central location. La Lorraine is also less than 10 minutes walk from the ski lifts. if you are a big fan of fondue try a visit to the Fromagerie!

Leysin Nightlife and Apres Ski Leysin has some good bars for you to work your way through. Le Cable Bar is a fun and cheery bar located right at the bottom of the cable car. They serve great coffee in the morning through to great drinks in the evening with a fab atmosphere! The Top Pub has a pretty relaxed atmosphere if you're looking for somewhere chilled in the evening. Should you fancy getting your groove on towards the end of the night then head to Club 94 for a boogie and some shape cutting!

Leysin Skiing
There is enough decent skiing to please most people and the whole resort has a wonderful laid back nature to it. The slopes are suited to all abilities but intermediates will get the most out of the mountain area. The skiing is divided up in to 2 main areas; Mayern and Bernese, ehilst at the other end of the town is the smaller resort of Solacyre. The lifts and gondolas from the village service a host of red and blue runs; for the more experienced and expert skiers we would recommend hiring a guide and take on the challenges that going off piste has to offer. |

Leysin Mountain Restaurants Leysin has some great mountain restaurants for you to enjoy both Swiss specialities and international cuisines. A popular choice for fondue loves is the Restaurant de Prafandaz; here you will have the opportunity to choose between 20 different kinds of cheese fondue and rostis. Definitely worth a try! Another spectacular Leysin mountain restaurant is the Kuldos; a revolving restaurant offering you scenic views of both the French and Swiss Alps; the food served here is both Swiss cuisine and international dishes.

Leysin is a well formed resort (small) but all the better for it. Not a huge variety of runs but certainly enough to keep you entertained for the week. The pistes are well groomed and not to busy. I can't think of a better place to learn, the ski school was brilliant and my kids came on a treat. We booked our ski rental with you at Endless Ski who were brilliant. Thank you
