Ski Sestriere The resort of Sestriere is the highest at 2035m within the Vialattea Skiing area and links the Chisone and Susa valleys. Sestriere is only a few kilometres from France. Sestriere consists of four built up areas: Sestriere Colle, Sestriere Borgata, Champlas du Col and Champlas Janvier. Sestriere first came to life in the 1930's as the brainchild of Fiat's Giovanni Angelli. It is a small, rather ugly place but generally has good snow with lots of terrain for intermediates to cover. For those who can't get enough of skiing, the resort has night skiing and the rest can enjoy the shops. |

Sestriere Ski Information Sestriere adjoins the ski resort of Sauze d'Oulx and Sansicario in the Vialettea ski area. It is higher than Sauze and so normally has better conditions.
Cross Country Monterotta area offers a 10 km cross-country track.
For experts there are a fair few slopes to explore, and some great off piste when there is snow.
For intermediates there is some good skiing too, with the whole of the Milky Way area, conditions permitting, to be enjoyed.
There are good slopes for beginners too, with a couple of nursery areas to chose from.
There is some great freestyle skiing and snowboarding available in the park and off as this video showcases.

Where should I hire skis and snowboards in Sestriere?
We recommend two shops in Sestriere, Marcellin Noleggio - Scuola Ski Sestriere - which is situated in Piazzale Kandahar Marcellin Alberto Sport, on Via Louset 2 (very near the church).
If you book online here at Snowbrainer it will save you both time and money. The equipment will be on the shop ready for you on arrival in resort. Ski rental online helps you beat the queues and you'll save on the shops prices.
It's what we call a No Brainer - so book now! |

Easy to use Piste Maps & Ski Trails Looking for high detailed piste maps for your GPS? Snowranger sells affordable quality digital maps that are great for any ski or snowboard trip. You can rent or buy the kit so for more details head to www.jam-cam.tv If you take the JAMCAM rental service in resort they include a host to record your day. What's an easy way to carry skis? Well we found the ‘THE HANDLE’ . This nifty little device allows you to carry your skis around without causing major injury to yourself and other members of the public. It’s incredibly easy to use – no Velcro just a click buckle. It’s also light and small enough to put in your pocket. www.ski-walker.com

We stayed at the Chalet Edelweiss in March which is cheap , maybe because they built the walls with paper! A good 10 minutes to the lifts. Sestriere is spread out over 2 mountains, Sestriere itself and Borgota which is very good for intermediates with lots of decent red runs which had few people on them. Watch out for lifts opening late/ closing on the Milky Way which makes it all a bit of an effort! But do try getting to Sauze D’Oulx which has some great skiing. The après ski is limited but you will love the cakes (my wife certainly did) and I loved the cheap prices.

Stayed in Hotel Cristallo and really enjoyed the food. Fab location across the road from the ski lockers and pistes. The ski school meeting place was very close too. Last year the snow was awesome and the skiing great. Definitely recommend the resort, hotel and ski rental.

Sestriere is a fab place to ski in especially for intermediates and as always stay at the Hotel Du Col which is very good. Rent skis from Marcellin Alberto Sport and you will be pleased with the level of ski equipment and choice. Your staff at Snowbrainer really looked after our family so a big thank you.
