Alleghe
It's relatively unknown but a great little resort with some lovely restaurants. One of the best things is that it is in easy driving distance to other resorts like Cortina, Canazie and Arabba and it is on the Dolomites Superski Pass. It is located at the bottom of the legendary Civetta Massif, on the shore of the Homonym lake. (Image of Dolomites)

Alleghe Restaurants Italian ski resorts often have delicious food and Alleghe has a fair number of fine dining establishments as well as pizzerias ad trattorias. For delicious rustic food try Caprera di Casagrande Gianpolo or for great pizzas try Pizzeria Rudatis di Rudatis. For delicious traditional Italian food try either the Albergo La Furlanina or the Albergo Valgranda - great food and atmosphere!

One of the benefits of this resort is that you are in easy driving distance of Canazei, Arabba and Cortina - giving you much wider scope. It's a good resort for beginners and intermediates with 42% of the slopes aimed at beginners and 50% suitable for intermediates. The chair lifts are fast and efficient and lift capacity is 7000 an hour and the resort links to Selva di Cadore and Zoldo.
There is also the Alleghe superpark for freestyle skiers and snowboarders to make the most of all day long. Here's a video showing what you can expect in the superpark.
