 KirchbergKirchberg Resort
Kirchberg shares the same slopes as Kitzbuhel which is 5km away to the East. So please check out our resort page on Kitzbuhel. It also offers flood light skiing on Thursday and Friday on Gaisberg just across the road. For you inquisitive clients Kirch means church in German and it will probably the first thing you'll notice on arrival. Young and old mingle together and the apres ski is very good, with prices somewhat lower than its esteemed neighbour in Kitzbuhel. Budget Hote - Hotel Kirchenwist T: 5357 2852 is inexpensive hotel right in the centre with good food. Lots of B&B's to choose from two of which are very cheap.
Kirchberg is a wise choice of ski location when choosing your winter holiday; especially if you are thinking of spending a lot of time at Resterhohe, where you can gain quick access from Skirast to Pengelstein and the linking gondola. The slopes are all just a bus ride away and the village is similar to Kizbuhel in that it is located between two pretty valleys. |

Kirchberg Restaurants
There are a number of great restaurants in Kirchberg, however, many of these seem to be in the hotels as with many restaurants in Austrian ski resorts. However, there are a number of pizzeria's as well as steakhouses on offer too. |

Kirchberg Bars
The resort of Kirchberg is very popular with the Dutch contingency and they are always up for a party and having a good time. The London Pub is popular not too far away and this is possibly one of the best pubs in Austria; possibly even in the Alps (Tel: 5357 3993). Go and try it and see for yourself. |

Kirchberg Family Activities
There are a number of hotels which have swimming pools; check these out for a well deserved relaxing session in the pool at the end of a long day's skiing or snowboarding. There are a number of squash courts here for the more energetic; whilst horse drawn sleigh rides are a wonderful way to spend some time either in the day or in the evening. Another nice activity is to walk to an Alpine farm and try some of Tirol's local delicacies such as Kaminwurzn sausage. |

Kirchberg Hotels and Accomodation
There are some great hotels in Kirchberg and there is certainly accommodation to cater for all budgets. The 4**** Klausen is close by to the main gondola which is useful when getting up in the morning to whizz up the mountain for a day of skiing and snowboarding.
A little further out of the centre of town is the Sporthotel Tyrol - not quite central but a good choice and won't blow the budget!
Another recommendation to Snowbrainer is the Hotel Alexander (Tel: 5357 2222) - this hotel is in a great location right in the centre of town.

Kirchberg Ski
Skiing in Kirchberg is a great for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. The best choice of gondola is from Skirast; here you will be able to access fast chairs to Pengelstein which links to the gondola to Wurzhohe. The Fleckalmbahn from Klausen to Ehrenbachhohe can often have queues ; and the alternative chair lifts to Maierl are painfully slow and are probably best to avoid but you decide... The separate ski area of Gaisberg is on the other side of the family; skiing here is popular and great fun.
Unfortunately there are no terrain parks here so snowboarders won't be all that happy - we would advise them to head to the nearby sister resort of Kitzbuhel for boarding action. There are two terrain parks over in Kitzbuhel and this will definitely keep the snowboarders happy!
If its cross country skiing that you are after you may be in luck here in Kirchberg; there are a number of trails however, they can sometimes suffer from a lack of snow. There are over 120km of cross country skiing trailsto try out; with the longest trail being the 30km Kirchberg to Brixental route.
