A very pretty village in the Ski Welt area, which is the largest ski area in Austria A good centre to stay at with a beautiful white church in the centre. Scheffau is located a the foot of the spectacular Kaiser mountains which offer some great skiing and beautiful scenery.

Scheffau Ski You can ski to the Ski Welt lifts at the Blaiken but you will need to get a bus back. Scheffau is well placed for the Ski Welt area which probably has the best snow conditions. The mountain bowl above the village provides you with some of the best snow.
For Experts
The slopes above Blaken are the best as they are the longest and steepest in the whole of the Ski Welt area. We recommend you head off piste with a guide for a really great day out
For Intermediates
Scheffau is a good place to get access to the whole terrains 250km of runs. In total there are 93 lifts there are plenty of runs on all gradings of slope to enjoy and improve on
Beginners
Great place to learn to ski especially as they can take kids from as early as 3. Nursery slope is in the village and at the top of the Brandstadl lift and offer wide gentle runs perfect for learning on. It's a nice place to start for snowboarders too. For Xmas and New Year we thought we try a new ski destination and after reading your resort information pages and a number of other guides we settled on Scheffau. A good choice it was to with the ski area now linking directly to Westendorf and all round accessibility to the slopes very good. Very few queues added to the enjoyment of the holiday as did the picturesque quality of the place.
