Description: Flims is by most measure a major resort and is part of the Alpenarena ski region. It tends to be sunny and is divided up into two parts. Flims Dorff is the main village and sprea out along the busy road, Flims Walhaus is the part where good hotels are located and is set in a wooded hillside. The resort shuttle buses are included in the ski lift pass. Known as being a bit of a Snowboarding destination with its three half pipes with walls of over 6.7 metres, you'll find the place attracts some of the big international riding events

Description: Leysin was once famous as a high altitude centre of the treatment of respiratory diseases, now a delightful laid back ski resort with an international feel. There's lots of sporting activities in winter including the largest Swiss toboganning park which is conveniently floodlit at night. There is also tubing on carved shoots which work similar to a bobsleigh run. It's a sunny resort and good for adults and children with a short transfer time from Geneva Aiport. Located in the heart of the Vaudois Alps Leysin is a wonderful place for a family winter holiday.

Description: Not to far from Brig, Blatten lies above Naters, and the Rhone below. Along with Blatten-Belalp, Rosswald and Rothwald are three independent ski areas. Blatten is a sunny resort great for children. It's a lovely resort for snowshoeing and long winter walks.

Description: A small village situated on a sunny car free plateau. Lofty backdrop of the Aletsch Glacier and look over 4000m peaks in the Valaisa Alps. It's one of the most famous ski resorts in Europe and is nestled in a well sheltered position that catches the sun in the heart of Switzerland's southern most Alps. If you are going to stay try and get a place near the Medran lift. Many villas, appartments and hotesl are simply too far away and the buses can get very busy and stop at about 7pm. Grab a place near the Place Central and you won't be disappointed.

Description: Ok, so it's not a chocolate box swiss resort but the mountains are simply stunning. It is really two towns set a mile apart. Crans is the more upmarket with fancy boutiques. A free shuttle bus runs between them but it can get It's a great resort for kids with lots to do including Bibis Fun Park where you can go trubing and toboganning. For adults a tip to the casino, some apres ski or a relaxing spa.

Most restaurants and hotels are owned by a few families and Zermatt is both a winter and summer destination of choice. ON the down side the walking around can be a pain in the neck and that's without fallin and avoiding the electric taxis! Take care when choosing where to stay in theis sprawling town the best location for us a Snowbrianer is near the Gornegrat and Sunnegga railways because you are close to two lifts.

Description: An exclusive resort, beautiful mountains and set over the lake San Murezzan. Exclusive is the byword here! Hotels tend to be nothing less than 4 star and remember to pack your credit card for the shops. It's one of the most famous resorts in teh world and the only resort in Switzerland to have hosted the Winter Olympics. St Moritz is split into 2 areas. Dorf and Bad Dorf is the sophisticated town with fashionable shops whilst St Moritz Bad is located next to the frozen lake and much quieter. Saas Fee, Switzerland
Description: Saas Fee is a magical place, and often referred to as 'The Pearl of the Alps' It's car free and a kind of mini Zermatt with pretty Valasian farmhouses and buildings giving the taste of the real Switzerland. Good snow is guaranteed throughout the season with its high altitude. Try and visit in the spring sun when the 13 imposing 4000m peaks including the hightest in Switzerland (the Dom 4534m ) are looking their best. One thing about the village itself is that it is completely car free and the only way to get around is to flag down a horse drawn sleigh with carriage or there are small electric vehicles.
