It's one of the most famous ski resorts in Europe and is nestled in a well sheltered position that catches the sun in the heart of Switzerland's southern most Alps. If you are going to stay try and get a place near the Medran lift. Many villas, appartments and hotesl are simply too far away and the buses can get very busy and stop at about 7pm. Grab a place near the Place Central and you won't be disappointed.

Description: Ok, so it's not a chocolate box swiss resort but the mountains are simply stunning. It is really two towns set a mile apart. Crans is the more upmarket with fancy boutiques. A free shuttle bus runs between them but it can get It's a great resort for kids with lots to do including Bibis Fun Park where you can go trubing and toboganning. For adults a tip to the casino, some apres ski or a relaxing spa.

Description: Villard de Lans is both a town and commune of the Vercors Plateau in France situated in the Isere department. The village stretches along the foot hills of the Grand Moucherolle. Part of the 1968 Winter Olympics were held here. The village is enjoyed in both summer and winter by tourists. In the 1970's Le Balcon de Villard -cote 2000 was created to give people access to the ski field.
