Description: A sprawling resort but fashionable nonetheless. It's one of the most famous ski resorts in Europe and is nestled in a well sheltered position that catches the sun in the heart of Switzerland's southern most Alps. If you are going to stay try and get a place near the Medran lift. Many villas, appartments and hotesl are simply too far away and the buses can get very busy and stop at about 7pm. Grab a place near the Place Central and you won't be disappointed.

It was built in the 1960's by a British property company and to be blunt, they didn't do a very good job . Description: Seefeld has twice been the venue for the Winter Olympics and is close to Innsbruck. It has a brilliant network for cross country skiing and is generally a very good resort to learn to ski in. Seefeld has a wonderful pedestrianised centre with a number of people who don't even come for the skiing. Upmarket indeed with three 5* hotels as well! Maybe cross country enthusiasts amongst us hould head here because there are around 262km of excellent tracks. Innsbruck is close by too.

Bacquiera itself is somewhat drab with high rise blocs and many people choose to stay down the mountain. (these people I am led to believe include the Spanish Royal Family! Can this be true?) There are many more hotels, bars and Catalan restaurants in the town. There are free shuttle buses to take you to the mountain each morning.
