Puy St Vincent 1700, France


Description: Puy St Vincent is situated in Les Ecrins, the largest park in France with a staggering 92000 acres. The year round resort is split into four levels, 1400, 1600,1700 and 1800. Puy 1600 is larger than the rest. Sadly there is a bit of a concrete block right in the middle which we find at Snowbrainer find a bit ugly.Puy 1400 is the most relaxed of the four resorts and really a sweet little hamlet. Nearby you will find other hamlets like Le Villaret, Les Pres, Les Albers and the original village Le Puy with its churches. When you arrive at your chosen accommodation you will be given a Guest card which give syou some good discounts on ski school, lift passes, the cinema and numerous other activities.1700 has good access to the slopes.


Puy St Vincent 1800, France

Puy 1800 is the newer part of the resort wher you tend to find chalets built in the traditional style. When you arrive at your chosen accommodation you will be given a Guest card which give syou some good discounts on ski school, lift passes, the cinema and numerous other activities.


Arosa, Switzerland


Description: Arosa is set on the shores of two picture postcard lakes. It is a beautiful rail journey from Chur which takes under an hour. A well heeled clientelle enjoy its relaxed ambience. There are lots of good restaurants, a casino and winter walking paths so things to do if you are not a skier.


Westendorf, Austria


Description: Part of the Kitzbuheler Alpenskipass, Westendorf was voted the most beautiful village in Europe in 1998. It is a cosy cosmopolitan alpine village which sell itself as a good quality family resort.

Pila, Italy


Description: Pila is situated in the Aosta valley. There are some good slopes for skiing on which are usually pretty quiet due to the fact that most people who come here are Italians. So you could say its a good secret and you'll enjoy the uncrowded slopes. There is a gondola that links the town below but in Pila itself you will find a handful of restaurants. Description: A fabulous place to go if only to watch the world go by. We at Snowbrainer really love this traditional Italian village/town which is just over thw boarder from Chamonix. The village itself is traffic free in the centre and the the apres ski is just brilliant whilst alse being very refined. A little advice, leave your skis and boots up the mountain at the end of day rather than having to walk back into town with them on.


Kaltenbach, Austria


Description: Why Kaltenbach? Well a good reason would be that it gives you direct access via an 8 passenger gondola to Hochzillertal which has 155km of pistes to play with. Known as the Zillertal ski area it comes highly recommended. Great for weekend with 4 airports all in within 2 hours transfer time. If you buy the right pass you can also ski Fugen, Hippach, Mayrhofen (17km away) and Zell am Ziller


Predazzo, Italy


Description: A small resort where the Val di Fiemme and the Val di Travgnola meet. From Predazzo it is easy to reach the ski fields of Latemar from the cable car. There are around 50km of runs with night skiing at Obereggen and added attraction. The ski area Latemar belongs to the extraordinary Dolomite Superski - twelve ski areas linked together by a unique skipass in the Val di Fiemme. There are also 100km of cross country tracks
